Slow drains: what to note

A slow drain can be easy to dismiss until water starts pooling or a second fixture changes. Before sending an enquiry, note the fixture, the timing and what happens when other taps or appliances are used.

Start with the symptom, not a diagnosis.

Name the fixture

Say whether the issue is in a sink, shower, toilet, floor waste or outdoor drain. A specific fixture gives the next conversation a clear starting point.

Describe the pattern

Mention whether the water drains slowly, stops completely, gurgles, backs up or leaves an odour. Also say if the symptom is constant or comes and goes.

Include the history

If the same drain has blocked before, say when and whether a previous attempt helped. That context can be more useful than guessing what is underground.

Next step

If the issue is happening at your property, choose the closest service or location page and share the detail you know.
